Botanical drawing is exacting work, requiring meticulous observation and superior technique. To hone my skills, I often study the masters. I recently came across a stunning study of walnuts by the 17th century English botanical artist, Alexander Marshal, so today, I decided to tackle the subject myself.

Focusing primarily on the minute details, the composition and background are
intentionally simple.

This painting is offered for sale on ebay. Framing is included.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Lake County Haven to help it fulfill its mission to empower homeless women and their children to achieve permanent, independent living. Founded in 1992, the Haven fulfills its mission by providing shelter, housing, and professional services in support of its residents and graduates.
